“Storage is a transition space”

A housing project limited in a volume of 40x40x40 m cube; aims to use storage spaces as transitions between public and collective, collective and private, one living area and another... Placed in the site of a famous London project “the Robin Hood Gardens”, it is also attached to one of the massive concrete living blocks in order to provide it more public space and improve the quality of the vertical circulation areas. Taking some of the existing block’s features as references, the storages are used as transitions between different zones both in the scale of building and in the scale of each unit. So, as the robin hood gardens are the example and the reference, the cube is an improved version (in the scale of a unit) and a public expansion (in the scale of the building).
